A fire breaks out in the Florida mansion of Tyreek Hill

Although the Miami Dolphins wide receiver wasn't home when the fire started, his family was. Reports from firefighters say they were able to get to safety.

Fire destroyed the roof of Tyreek Hill's South Florida home on Wednesday afternoon, according to the police. Hill is a famous wide receiver for the Miami Dolphins.

20 firefighters from Davie Fire Rescue reacted to the fire at 16755 Berkshire Court in the town of Southwest Ranches at 1:55 p.m., according to Fire Marshal Bob Taylor.

A tough fire to put out because the flames were in a tough-to-reach place in the attic of the big two-story house, according to Taylor.

The fire looked like it was contained to the attic and roof, but Taylor said that "significant smoke damage" was done to most of the house.

According to Taylor, they were able to get out safely before our teams got there. "Thankfully, it was called in quickly enough that we were able to get to it and aggressively be able to contain the fire to the area."

"Having your house on fire is extremely upsetting for anyone, but Tyreek and his family are handling it with the utmost poise." Drew Rosenhaus, Hill's agent, told NBC South Florida at the scene, "He was thankful that the firefighters saved his house."
