Cream Cheese Mints  candy Recipe

Saltine toffee, also known as Christmas crack or cracker candy, is a sweet and salty treat made with a layer of saltine crackers coated in buttery toffee, topped with chocolate, and optionally sprinkled with nuts or sea salt. Here's a simple recipe to make it at home:

Ingredients: – 40 saltine crackers (about 1 sleeve) – 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

– 1 cup packed light brown sugar – 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips – 1/2 cup chopped nuts, such as pecans or almonds (optional) – Sea salt flakes or coarse salt (optional, for sprinkling)

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9x13-inch baking pan with parchment paper or aluminum foil, leaving some overhang on the sides for easy removal.

1. Arrange the saltine crackers in a single layer on the bottom of the prepared baking pan, covering the entire surface. You may need to break a few crackers to fit them snugly.

1. In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar and stir until the sugar is dissolved and the mixture is smooth. Allow the mixture to come to a gentle boil, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for 3-5 minutes, stirring constantly, until thickened and slightly caramelized.

1. Carefully pour the hot toffee mixture over the saltine crackers in the baking pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula to coat all the crackers.

1. Place the baking pan in the preheated oven and bake for 5-7 minutes, or until the toffee is bubbling and caramelized.
