Urías began his professional career with the Arizona League Dodgers in 2013 at the age of 16. Despite his youth, he immediately showcased his talent, posting a 2.48 ERA with 67 strikeouts in 54.1 innings pitched.
In 2014, Urías was promoted to the Great Lakes Loons, the Dodgers' Class A affiliate in the Midwest League. He continued to impress, recording a 2.36 ERA and 109 strikeouts in 87.2 innings. His performance earned him a spot in the Midwest League All-Star Game.
Later in 2014, Urías was promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, the Dodgers' Advanced-A affiliate. He maintained his dominance, finishing the season with a combined ERA of 2.77 across both levels, solidifying his status as one of the top pitching prospects in baseball.
In 2015, Urías moved up to the Double-A Tulsa Drillers in the Southern League. He excelled, posting a 2.77 ERA with 74 strikeouts in 68.1 innings. His ability to handle advanced hitters at such a young age further highlighted his potential.
After the 2014 season, Urías was selected to participate in the prestigious Arizona Fall League (AFL), a showcase for top prospects. Despite being one of the youngest players in the league, he performed well, continuing to develop his skills against elite competition.
In 2016, Urías was promoted to the Triple-A Oklahoma City Dodgers. He dominated at this level as well, with a 1.40 ERA and 44 strikeouts in 45 innings. His success in Triple-A made it clear that he was ready for the major leagues.
Throughout his minor league career, Urías received numerous accolades, including being named to multiple All-Star teams and being recognized as the Dodgers' Minor League Pitcher of the Year. He consistently ranked among the top prospects in baseball, often listed in MLB Pipeline’s Top 100 Prospects.
