following this season, the Patriots may need a new head coach, and Titans coach Mike Vrabel is in the Patriots Hall of Fame following eight of his 14 NFL seasons with them. Of course, social media linked those facts.
This, along with issues about Vrabel's compatibility with General Manager Ran Carthon, have raised questions about whether Sunday will be his last game with the Titans.
Vrabel said Wednesday that he would continue with the team in 2024.
"Of course I want to be here," Vrabel told Associated Press Teresa Walker. "It's been amazing to be here as long as we can win and achieve this. Also just this year. Nobody wants our position."
Vrabel earned NFL coach of the year in 2021, but the Titans went 7-10 last season and 5-11 this year. Since joining the Titans before the 2018 season, he is 55-48 and signed a contract extension beyond 2021. Vrabel denied discussing his future with his team.
"If we believed everything that was on social media, it'd be Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny and there's no tooth fairy, you know that," Vrabel. "I've never reacted to any of those, and we won't start now.
I know where we are as an organization, and I'm thrilled to develop, correct, and win championships with Ran, Chad [Brinker], the coaching staff, and everyone. That's our aim. No, social media and where it is distract me.
The Titans will have the second-most offseason cap room and a top-eight draft pick in April.
