NFL QBs' third- and fourth-down conversion rates for Purdy

The NFL quarterbacks are evaluated based on their proficiency in high-pressure third- and fourth-down scenarios; in his debut season as the starting signal-caller for the San Francisco 49ers, Brock Purdy stood out in this regard.

According to information published on Saturday by Warren Sharp of Sharp Football Analysis, Purdy was the second-best quarterback in the NFL in 2023 in terms of converting third-and fourth-down passing attempts during the regular season.

In January's exciting divisional-round victory for the 49ers, the only player Purdy was chasing was Green Bay Packers quarterback Jordan Love. Love battled valiantly against the 49ers' defense

Following Love and Purdy in the rankings were quarterbacks Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, Kirk Cousins of the Atlanta Falcons, and quarterback Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys.

Thanks to Purdy's very efficient performance when San Francisco threw the ball on third down in 2023, the 49ers concluded the season ranked fourth in the NFL for third-down conversion rate.

Purdy, a 24-year-old quarterback, was the league leader in 2023 in a variety of statistical categories, including passer rating (113.0), yards per attempt (9.6), and touchdown percentage (7.0 percent). His clutch conversions on third and fourth down weren't his only strength, though.

The 49ers franchise single-season throwing yardage record was held by Jeff Garcia until 2023, when Purdy broke it with 4,280 yards. Purdy became the first quarterback from San Francisco to be named to the Pro Bowl in more than 20 years thanks to his stellar season.

The 49ers can look forward to another season with optimism since they have a promising young quarterback who is shaping up to be the team's quarterback for many years.
